While research continues to lack a focus on gambling among LGBTQ+ individuals, there is even less known about comorbidities with gambling in this population. Using a survey among LGBTQ+ individuals in 4 U.S. states, this presentation will explore the relationship between military service (current and veteran) and gambling behavior, considering substance use/abuse as a modifier. Initial results show that when exploring the mediating effects of all the substance use behaviors and the outcome of gambling behaviors, only cannabis use significantly mediated the relationships between military service and gambling behavior. Potential outreach ideas will be provided.
