This presentation addresses the significant increase in the number of individuals with gambling addiction being prosecuted in both state and federal jurisdictions for crimes associated with the progression of their disorder. Drawing on experience as an expert witness in more than 60 legal cases over the past 30 years, the presenter will guide participants through established protocols that have contributed to reduced or downward-departed sentences in federal cases. The workshop will cover key areas including assessment and diagnosis, report writing, collaboration with attorneys, and effective courtroom testimony.
