Dr. Michael Wohl is a Professor of Psychology at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. He directs the Carleton University Gambling Laboratory, where his research advances the science of responsible gambling, including the development and evaluation of the Positive Play framework. Specifically, his work examines the psychological drivers of disordered gambling and evidence-based strategies for promoting sustainable, player-focused gambling environments. He has published over 200 peer-reviewed articles and more than 100 government and industry reports, which have been cited over 20,000 times. Additionally, he has received numerous research and teaching awards and secured over $8 million in competitive research funding.
