Psylocibin Assisted Therapy for Gambling Disorder

Gambling Disorder (GD) is a serious public health issue with limited effective treatment options. This presentation explores the potential of Psychedelic Assisted Therapy (PAT) as a novel approach to treating GD. Through a review of recent studies on PAT’s efficacy in treating anxiety, depression, PTSD, and substance use disorders, this research examines PAT’s advantages and risks for GD treatment. While promising results are observed in co-occurring conditions, PAT’s use in behavioural addictions remains under-researched. Rigorous studies are needed to assess PAT’s efficacy and safety for GD, including applications in retreat settings and integration with therapeutic modalities.
