With unprecedented accessibility to and acceptability of gambling, it isn’t surprising some young people are engaging in gambling behavior in harmful ways. Though early exposure to gambling can increase a young person’s risk for gambling-related harm, the perception of risk is low among youth, parents, teachers and even among helping professionals. Attendees will examine what can be learned from campaigns that empower healthy decision making around other potentially addictive products; see examples of youth tackling this issue; and understand the role technology can (and should) play in these efforts. Attendees will have opportunities to interface with educational materials via technology.
