Shared Risks, Shared Solutions: Integrating Substance Use, Gambling, & Suicide Prevention

A focus on shared risk and protective factors can better shape our approach to prevention, breaking down the silos of an issue-specific approach. By recognizing the efficiencies of a shared risk and protective factor model, agencies can establish a clear narrative and streamline activities and funding, resulting in reduced strain on the prevention workforce. As gambling opportunities expand nationwide, integration of problem gambling into broader prevention frameworks is critical.
