CALL FOR NCPG NATIONAL CONFERENCE VOLUNTEERS NOW OPEN!

The call for conference volunteers is now open to those interested in sharing their time and being an important part of this year’s conference. The National Council on Problem Gambling and Problem Gambling Network of Ohio thank you for considering being a volunteer! The role of a volunteer is to help facilitate a successful conference by committing their valuable time and providing superior guest service to the attendees and sponsors. If you are interested, please complete this Volunteer Form.

Good volunteers can be the difference between the success or failure of our conference.

We couldn’t do it without you! Thank you!

  • Volunteer Job Descriptions
  • Registration Host- These Volunteers are the first contact for conference attendees. Registration Volunteers assist attendees with on-site badge printing and provide ribbons, lanyards and information about the conference. Registration Volunteers should be exceptionally friendly and able to answer ALL questions regarding the conference schedule, session locations and other important information. This is a good volunteer position for those who are not attempting to obtain CE’s.
  • Room Monitor- Duties include scanning the badges of conference attendees as they enter sessions and meals. Room Monitors also attempt to ensure that the audience is seated at the start of each session and that no additional chairs are needed if the room begins to fill with attendees. In addition, the Room Monitor acts as liaison for the Presenter to ensure that audio/visual equipment is working properly (if not, to notify the NCPG staff), provides the Presenter with visual cues near the end of the session at the 10-minute and 5-minute marks to keep the conference schedule on time, and collects paper session evaluations for those audience members who are unable to use the NCPG Conference app digital evaluation.
  • Floater- Floaters are given a specific location assignment and are required to stand for the duration of their assignment. They provide directional assistance to conference attendees and can answer ALL questions regarding the conference schedule, session locations and other important information. This is a good volunteer position for those who are not attempting to obtain CEs.
  • Volunteer Session Access
  • Volunteers receive access to sessions only on the days that they are scheduled to work and may receive CEs for the session to which they are assigned when their badge is properly scanned. Once the daily sessions are published, requests to volunteer as a Room Monitor for a specific conference track will be accepted. Specific session requests will be accepted if an ample number of people have volunteered for the conference.
