Shirley Hoak, JD, ICGC-II, CPRE, CFRA is an Internationally Certified Gambling Counselor II, Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist and a Certified First Responder Ally. She is a person in long term recovery. She recently served as a work group member responsible for developing Guide to Competencies for Gambling Recovery Peers. She has over 12 years experience working in gambling specific treatment programs. She maintains and individual caseload and facilitates early and long term recovery groups. She is working on gathering data about first responders and their gambling and on developing a training curriculum specific to gambling recovery peers.
