The National Council on Problem Gambling invites presentation proposals for the National Conference on Gambling Addiction & Responsible Gambling held on July 16-18, 2025, in Columbus, OH. The National Conference on Gambling Addiction & Responsible Gambling brings together world-class presenters to deliver powerful and insightful messages about problem gambling and responsible gambling.

Presenter Policies

The National Conference on Gambling Addiction and Responsible Gambling is designed to provide attendees with training and experiences to:
  • Critically evaluate factors and conditions related to matters of problem gambling and responsible gambling. 
  • Gain knowledge on problem gambling from the perspectives of prevention, treatment, responsible gambling, regulation, and recovery. 
  • Become informed of the latest developments in problem gambling and responsible gambling fields. 
  • Learn about problem gambling and responsible gambling issues that are relevant to diverse populations. 
  • Discover methods and information that will help to advance wellbeing by minimizing harm from gambling problems.

NCPG expects the information that you share at the conference is for the benefit of attendee education and learning. Conference presentations are not an appropriate forum for product sales pitches or demonstrations. Sponsorship and promotional opportunities to maximize exposure for vendors of problem gambling and responsible gambling services are available.   • Inclusion of evidence-based information and strategies.
  • Popular appeal to conference attendees.
  • Opportunity for audience involvement and input.
  • Special consideration will be given to submissions that include diversity, equity and inclusivity content.

  • Pre-Conference WorkshopOffered for intensive and specific skill development and information sharing which incorporates hands-on exercises and attendee participation in a small group setting.

Format Options: Individual Expert Lecture, Multiple Expert Lecture, Moderated Panel Discussion, Interactive Workshop 

Session Length: 3 hours

  • Main Conference BreakoutIndividual or multiple expert lecture or moderated panel discussion focusing on a specific topic.

  • Main Conference Poster PresentationVisual display and informal presentation to highlight research data or highlight innovative practices.

Session Themes

Session themes are intended to make it easier for attendees to navigate and find sessions relevant to their interests. Presentation submissions can include up to three themes that sufficiently reflect the content of the presentation.

  • Unsure - Help Me Decide If you’re unsure sure which theme to choose, the conference program committee will help you select the best option for your submission.
  • PreventionHighlighting innovative and evidence-based problem gambling prevention programs and models that demonstrate results.
  • RecoveryHighlighting the different pathways and experiences of recovery from gambling addiction.
  • Responsible GamblingHighlighting the developments and best practices in responsible gambling tools, policy, and programs.
  • TreatmentHighlighting promising practices for the treatment of gambling addiction.
  • RegulationHighlighting the rules and laws governing the gambling industry.
  • ResearchHighlighting the latest research findings related to the public health impacts of gambling.
  • Population of FocusHighlighting a specific community or group who share a particular characteristic related to the public health impacts of gambling. (for example: youth, military & veterans, LGBTQ+ community members, justice involved, individuals with a co-occurring mental or behavioral health condition).
  • Tribal GamingHighlighting the unique relationship between gambling and Tribal communities.
  • Technology and InnovationHighlighting the evolving role of technology in problem gambling and responsible gambling.
  • Workforce DevelopmentPresentations explore the development of skills and knowledge for problem gambling and responsible gambling professionals.

Presenter Registration Policy

NCPG recognizes and values the work, time and energy that you have invested in preparing your presentation. The following Presenter Registration Policy is designed to acknowledge and reward the efforts and expertise that presenters bring to each NCPG event.

Within this policy, a single Virtual Session, Pre-Conference day, and Main Conference two-day are each defined as an “event”.

A Lead Presenter will receive one complimentary registration for the specific event during which they are presenting. Complimentary registration entitles the Lead Presenter to participate as an attendee in any additional session(s) within that event. If a Lead Presenter wishes to attend an event separate from that which they are presenting, they will need to complete and pay for their registration for that event separately. Lead Presenter registrations are non-transferable. A Lead Presenter will only be provided with one complimentary registration per event.

Co-Presenters will not receive complimentary registration for the event during which they are presenting and must complete and pay for any and all applicable registrations.

Lead Presenters and Co-Presenters are responsible for arranging and paying for their own travel, accommodation and other related expenses.
